More than just a headlight

I was driving home last evening when I heard a thump. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw something bouncing along the road. I figured I had just hit a plastic container because that's what it looked like. I gave it no further thought. Then today when Paul got home he asked me "What did you do to the car?" I had no clue what he was talking about until I looked and saw that we were missing the left blinker light. It was completely gone. I put two and two together and realized that that was what hit my car the evening before - my light had fallen out. Now this is even more of a nuisance since we just got our car back 2 days ago after the driver side window fell out and other misc electrical things have quit on us. I'm thinking, please, not another repair bill - now we have to pay for a brand new light. Well, I thought I would drive back to the 'scene' and see if I could find our missing light - doubtful, it fell off on a busy road and it had been 24 h

3 Months

Image
Hannah is now 12 weeks old (3 months officially this Thursday) I attempted to take some pictures of her for her 3 month pics. These are the ones that I picked out as the final 3. Probably one of these will end up wallet sized and handed out to the grandparents : ) Hannah is now taking 2 naps a day - an hour in the AM and 2 hrs in the PM. She goes to bed at 8:30 and wakes up just before 8 in the morning. She is still spitting up all the time, but it doesn't seem to upset her as often as it did before. She has gas alot that seems to wake her up but some days are better than others. Owen is currently working on listening and obeying (yeah, still working on that : ) and the consequences that come if he doesn't. Some days are better than others. I have a feeling this will be an unending lesson though, since his mommy is still working on it herself...

Made to Praise

Some days I am just at a loss of what I am really doing here in this life. Day in and day out I'm changing diapers, cleaning spitup off my shirt, making sure there's clean laundry and food on the table. Yeah, people say it's a noble calling being a mom - I'm raising the future. But isn't there more to it than that? Something more lasting, eternal? Hebrews 13:15 says "Through Jesus Christ let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise." God didn't make us so we could go out and make the most money or have the cleanest house or do the most laundry in a 24 hour period ever. Sure, things need to get done, but God made us to glorify Him. We were made to praise Him. In all that we do, we need to glorify our Father. All that we do, we do it for Him. Knowing this, has put a different spin on my days. I'm not just raising future adults, I am here to teach my children to become instruments of praise for their Father and Saviour. Now that

July 4th Weekend

Image
We had such a great time with the Gramm fam this past weekend in Illinois. We stayed the night with Mike and Carmen and got to catch up little bit - it's so much fun having our kids close in age to theirs. We had perfect weather for the reunion on Saturday, too. When we got back to Mike and Carmen's after the reunion - Lincoln and Hannah just laid on the floor and kicked - I think they were glad to have some movement after being held all day! The pictures are: Owen and Hannah; Owen and Kate (6 weeks apart); The Gramm siblings and their spouses; Carmen with Kate and Lincoln; Lincoln and Hannah (3 weeks apart)
